Wireless Router and Switch Connected to webcam

Good morning,
I have attached the design file that I have done, when I do the simulation of the network, the wireless router fails to send a response to the webcams, and the same happens with the 24ps POE Switch, the two devices are able to receive but not to send, and that makes the server there are things that do not reach.

On the other hand, how can I see how long the pings take?

And last question, the router R1 and R2 are necessary?

Hi

For camera and server, they should be able to communicate just fine as they are all in the same network and the switch have only default vlan.  I am able to ping from the server to the camera. If you have trouble here, maybe config on the camera and server itselves.

For wireless,it is not going to work. WRT is a router. As such, you need to connect the outside network to the Internet interface, not LAN interface. Then, you need to enable the DHCP server on the router.  Keep in mind that the camera will not be in the same network as the camera on the wired network as you have a router in between.

First of all, I don't like version of WRT Linksys as a router in PT. I know it is needed for home based network but some GUI settings are missing making it not fully configurable router.  if u do not have to use it, change it to something else with a wireless capability.

WRT 300 router does not let you change ACLs or DMZ (at least I couldn't), so traffic that is not originated from hosts in WRT 300 fails; traffic only flows one way- one direction.

You need L3 switch with ip routing command on so that u can do routing. Add vlan 10 , add interface vlan 10 with new IP, and connect link to WRT 300 to be in vlan 10.  then you can change WRT 300 Internet port IP to be manual IP and then change link WRT 300 to L3 switch to correct port.  If L3 switch interface vlan 10 is on the same subnet as WRT 300, then you can ping them ok.

Also, you web cams static IP does not offer any default gateways which means Cams will not get to remote networks. you should use WRT DHCP to offer IPs to Cams and change Cams to DHCP IP .

attached is your file after few changes; notice scenario 2 pings will go from right cams to l3 switch and server but not other way around; I mean if you initiate ping from L3 switch to Cam via WRT will fail due to ACL restrictions on WRT router.  Also, this is not necessary bad thing for your home router.

Just read the article. Stop using packet tracer for simulations. Packet tracer has been developed to learn CCNA. May I suggest to have a look at Cisco Modelling Labs. It is a sandbox that is for free. On the downside it is with IOS XE and other more modern. Perhaps there are solutions that fit your lab. I hope you will enjoy.
