From the 3750-E Q&A
Q. Can I run Cisco Catalyst 3750 switches with Cisco Catalyst 3750-E switches in the same stack?
A. Yes, the two series are compatible. When the Cisco Catalyst 3750-E Series detects a non-E-Series Cisco Catalyst 3750, it will negotiate down from StackWise Plus mode to StackWise mode. Thus, the entire stack will now run in the original StackWise mode.

To add to Colin's post, yes you can.
But understand that the 3750G-12S has a small flash memory. This means that the 3750G will not be able to run higher IOS that the "-E" can. The highest IOS the 3750G-12 can run is 12.2(55)SE (and higher).
I would recommend your stack to load IOS version 12.2(55)SE6. Do NOT use other IOS versions other than this as this train is the most "stable" of them all.

Another caution, the G-12S supports a SDM template, not available on other models.
