Bill-to ID (“BID”) access provides users from your company with Cisco support access to all service contracts linked to the Bill to ID. Bill-to ID groups (“BID groups”) are a quick method to grant users access to multiple Bill-to IDs at one time. When a user profile is added to a BID group, the user will be granted access to all contracts linked to the Bill-to IDs in the group.

Once a user is added to a Bill to ID group, their continued access to the Bill to ID is not managed exclusively through the group. For example, if you have a peer Bill to ID Admin who manages the same Bill to IDs in your group and that Admin removes access to one or more Bill to IDs for one or more users that you have in your group using ‘Manage by Name’ or ‘Manage by Number’, your group will not reflect those changes. Your group will still contain the same Bill to IDs and the same users, but the users’ access will have been changed by your peer Admin. Additionally, you may grant access to a user using a group and then remove their access yourself to just one of the BIDs in the group using ‘Manage by Name’ or ‘Manage by Number’. The user will remain in the group containing all the BIDs but will not have access to the one removed by you using ‘Manage by Name’ or ‘Manage by Number’.
It is important to run reports regularly using SAMT reports to verify current user access. Admins should share their groups with peer Admins to keep the group users and group Bill to IDs consistent.

This tutorial shows you how to:
• Add a User to a Bill-to ID Group
• Remove a user from a Bill-to ID group

Add User(s) to a Bill-to ID group
Step 1. Log into SAMT and click ‘Manage By Group’ tab (1). By default, you will be on the Using Bill to ID tab (2). If you do not manage Bill to IDs, you will not see this tab in SAMT.

User Step 2. Click the radio button next to the group containing the Bill to IDs to add to user(s) profile(s). In the Action drop down, select ‘Add User to group’, and click Submit.

Step 3. You may either add a user (Step 3a) or search for a user from a list of users who already have access to a contract you manage (Step 3b).

Step 3 a. Search for the user(s) from a list of users who already have access to the contracts or Bill-to IDs you manage in SAMT by choosing the search criteria in the dropdown and entering the details in the text box. Click search button. If the results include the user(s) you want to add to the group, proceed to step 4. Otherwise, proceed to step 3b.

Step 3 b. If the search does not return the user or the users you want, click the “Add Name” button located above the Search area, and enter the Cisco.com IDs or email addresses of the users you want to add to the group.
