For C8200L-1N-4T router, DNA is mandatory? Network Essentials features will work without DNA?

Hi

DNAC is not mandaroty and DNAC Essential  will work withough DNAC.   Cisco is promoting a huge confusion by associating licensing name with DNAC pratform in devices that does not really need DNAC.

As you can see below, the Network  Essentials and Network Advanced has some difference in the functionality.  For example, "Full L3 routing functionality" you can see in Network Advanced licensing and not in essencial.

But, in this same table, you  are going to see that DNAC Licensing comprises feature related to manageability and automation which not necessary is your case for this router.

Hi,

DNA subscription is mandatory when you purchase for the first time (even if you don't need it).

It enables your router to be managed by DNAC or used in SD-WAN.

For legacy deployments, you don't need that subscription and no need to extend it. Network Essentials/ Advantage will cover whatever you want to configure in your environment.
