Hello all,

I am going to add a new interface to vManage or vBnod which are running in a VM on ESX but by default the interface is down. Since I don't have root permission how can I bring them up?

I really appreciate it if there is a solution.

Kind Regards,

Thanks,

Not sure why you think that some "root" privileges required to bring interface in the up state. Then only thing you need is user with netadmin user group privileges to perform "no shutdown" command under interface level configuration. No magic, as simple as that.

Please add your interface to the VPN  in vManage/vBond and perform "no shutdown".

It has got nothing to do with ESXi host , or priveleges in vshell mode.
