Let's put aside the merits of dynamic routing protocols for a minute.
If an enterprise network was to use only static routes for the transport side and service side, would this work with Cisco SD-WAN?
Static routes towards and within the carrier MPLS VPN instance.
Static routes on the service-side LAN facing the SD-WAN appliance.
Any guidance much appreciated. Thanks.

Hi
There´s nothing wrong with static routing and all device will work and accept it. There will be no paper for that but it is not necessary.
The concept is quite simple. You need to think: To get to such network, to where I need to send the packet? Then, you can put a static routing toward that destination.
But, now think that your nodes can crash sometimes. Static routing will not ajust to the environment changes. Then, you are going to have network downtime. That´s why static routing is not a good idea in most environment.
The only situation I think we can use static routing with no problem, is when you have only on possible destination. But, even in this scenrio I prefer setup BGP and then sent a default route instead.
Static routing works but doesn´t fit cause it provides no resilience and manage all this flows will be a nightmare.
