Hi All,
I go the VEdge (Hardware Boc) serial number from the cli command "show control local-properties". But we can not open a TAC case from that serial number. Saying "Not a device from that Serial". Checked with the Cisco online chat support also. Response is no such device from that serial number. Anyone has idea regarding this ?
Thanks

vEdge cloud routers, ISRv routers, CSR1000v routers, and Cisco ASR 1002-X routers do not have device certificates pre-installed. Each device uses a One Time Password (OTP)/Token that is generated by vManage and configured during device deployment for the purpose of a temporary identity. Once the device is temporarily authenticated, a permanent identity is provided by vManage, which can operate as a Certificate Authority (CA) to generate and install certificates for these devices.

@bigevilbeard As per my understanding, We need to execute this command on only VEdge cloud devices. But this is a VEdge Hardware box. Please correct if I am wrong

Not sure this works still, but it was
vEdge# show control local-properties

You need to install the certificate and install the token to get the serial number.
Request vedge-cloud activate chassis-number xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx token xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx,
then issue # show control local-properties

Hi,
user show version or show hardware to see serial number of the box.
From "show control local-properties" subject-serial-num line refers to hardware SN which can be used for TAC cases.
