We are pleased to announce support for browser-based SSH and RDP applications within Cisco Secure Access! This feature enables users to securely access private resources using SSH and RDP protocols directly through their browsers. This is a significant milestone in our mission to provide seamless, and secure Clientless Zero Trust Access (ZTA) to non-web applications, especially for unmanaged devices, third-party users, and users without Cisco Secure Client.

Getting Started with Browser-Based SSH and RDP Feature
To start using the browser-based SSH and RDP feature, please visit the Secure Access documentation website for detailed configuration instructions: Allow SSH and RDP Access to Private Resources.

Please note that this feature requires Secure Access Advantage tier subscription. The number of total, concurrent browser-based Secure Shell (SSH) and Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) sessions supported is limited to the total number of Secure Access Advantage, Secure Private Access (SPA) licenses purchased, regardless of the number of configured applications.

If you have any questions or need further assistance, please reply to the post or reach out directly to your Cisco partner.

Great news. Is there an official feedback method to request new features for Secure Access?

I work for a partner and the normal Firestarter form is only for Secure Firewall. ISE has the feedback link built into the product.

Great feature.  Just checked my instance and it wasn't available.  Do you know when it will be rolled out?

@randy.bock I've seen it in a customer's portal on Tuesday and my team's lab also. Should be anytime now.

@randy.bock this feature requires the Secure Access Advantage tier subscription. Does your instance have the appropriate subscription?

@Naveen Elango no, we only have Essentials - that explains it.  Thanks!

Do we need 10 licenses if I want 1 user to have 10 sessions on RDP or SSH?

Does anyone know this?

@Raima Ito Secure Access licensing is based on user counts, not concurrent sessions. Please contact your Cisco account representative for further details and information on licensing.

@Raima Ito I have received some clarification today that the maximum number of supported concurrent browser-based SSH/RDP connections is limited to the total number of Secure Private Access licenses purchased. My apologies for any confusion. Please contact your Cisco account representative for further information.

@Raima Ito yes you will need 10 Advantage SPA licenses if you want 1 user to have 10 sessions concurrently on RDP/SSH combined.

@Raima Ito This is getting a bit confusing. So is Secure Private Access Essentials sufficient, or is Secure Private Access Advantage required?

@randy.bock
His announcement mentions that a Secure Access Advantage tier subscription is required.

@mylesatcisco @Naveen Elango
Thank you for your response. I understand that the reason for this is likely because, unlike the web, sessions persist. However, having exceptions will only lead users into further chaos and undermine the product's advantages.

Great. Instantly worked with rdp and ssh
