These new enhancements offer granular DLP policies for specific Webex Spaces, Teams, Custom Domains, and monitors verbal communications by scanning Audio Transcripts.
Webex Space Rule Criteria:
Webex Spaces can now be used as criteria in SaaS API DLP rules, allowing customers to apply specific DLP policies based on the Webex Space. This enables you to protect sensitive information according to the context and audience.
Example Use Case: Organizations can implement a restrictive DLP policy to prevent sharing of restricted data in general spaces with broad audiences, or spaces with external audiences like customers, partners, or vendors.
Getting Started: In the SaaS API DLP rule, you will find a list of the Webex spaces under the Resource section. You can select which ones should be included in the DLP scanning.
Webex Teams Rule Criteria:
Teams in Webex allow you to group one or more, invite-only Webex Spaces that have a common theme by defining a “Team” within Webex (read more). With this enhancement, you can now apply specific Webex Teams as criteria in your DLP rules.
Getting Started: In the SaaS API DLP rule, you will find a list of your Webex Teams under the Resource section. You can select which Teams should be included in the DLP scanning.
Domain Rule Criteria:
User domains can now be used as criteria in SaaS API DLP rules, allowing you to apply specific DLP policies based on the domain of the user sharing a message or a file.
Use Case: Organizations can apply the same relaxed data access policy to contractors as is used for company employees when they are permitted to access restricted information. This ensures that contractors who need access can collaborate effectively.
Getting Started: In the SaaS API DLP rule, under Identity inclusion, you can also add the user's domain that the DLP rule should include.
Scan Webex Audio Call Transcript:
DLP scanning now spans over audio call transcripts in addition to files and messages. This ensures that sensitive information shared verbally is also monitored and protected against unauthorised data exfiltration and exposure.
Getting Started: The audio call transcript is scanned by default once you authenticate your Webex tenant and does not require further setting.
