Feature Overview

We are excited to announce the general availability of Network and Service objects in Secure Internet Access unified policy. With the introduction of objects as a policy construct, Secure Access customers can now create policies using objects which will now be the common ‘policy language’ between different Cisco Security platforms such as Secure Firewall and Security Cloud Control.

Key Benefits

  • Simplified policy management: Instead of having to rely on different policy components such as destination lists or manually configuring IP addresses and ports, administrators can now use Network and Service objects saving time and reducing complexity.
  • Enhanced scalability: Using Network and Service object groups, Kit (the IT Administrator) can enforce access to large sets of resources with a single policy.
  • Shared policy construct across Cisco Security: Objects are a shared policy construct across Secure Firewall, Meraki and Security Cloud Control. Kit will no longer need to adapt to different policy definition components when using different products within the Cisco Security ecosystem.

Getting Started

To start using Network and Service Objects within Secure Access, follow these steps:

  1. Login to the Secure Access dashboard and Navigate to Resources > Network and Service Objects.
  2. Select the Network Objects tab or the Service Objects tab to create network or service objects.
  3. Objects can be manually created using the Add network object/Add service object option or by using a CSV template and uploading it to Secure Access to quickly create a large number of objects.
  4. The objects created can then be referenced in Internet Access and Private Access policies.
