I am trying to clarify disk space sizing for Stealthwatch Enterprise SMC and Flow Collector VMs. As per doc, it states:
"FPS Calculation: Allocate a minimum of 1 GB of data storage for every 1,000 flows per second (FPS) your system averages daily multiplied by the number of days you want to store the flows. For example, if your system averages 2,000 FPS and you want to store flows for 30 days, allocate a minimum of 60 GB (2 X 30) of data storage space."
I assume this is in relation to the disk sizing for the Flow Collectors? But what about disk sizing for the SMC? It shows SMC minimum disk size as 125GB and maximum as 5.6TB. What do you get for increasing the disk size on the SMC?
If I size the flow collectors for 900GB disk (30k FPS x 30 days retention), does the SMC disk need to be 900GB as well?
