Hi,
i am currently doing first tests with my ASA running ASA8.4.3 and IPv6 connectivity.
It seems to work fine, but I think there is one major feature missing: DHCPv6:
There is no way to assign a DNS server to my clients:
The ASA does not support DHCPv6, so it is not possible to assign a DNS-server by stateless DHCP
Unfortunately it is also not possible to use a separate DHCP server in the same subnet, because the ASA does not support the "O"-flag in
the router advertisements, so clients will not ask a separate dhcp server
I have no idea, why this so important feature is not supported in the ASA. According to a TAC engineer there are currently no plans to implement this.
So currently the IPv6 support is disappointing me...
Regards
Florian
