Duo Mobile's Duo Restore for 3rd Party Accounts feature allows users to securely reconnect personal accounts. This feature is designed to help users regain access to accounts after resetting their device or acquiring a new one.

Important Notes:

  • If the recovery password is lost, accounts must be manually restored one by one.
  • Disabling Duo Restore or deleting the app will discard any saved backups.


Duo Mobile allows users to protect both organizational and personal accounts. Duo Protected Accounts are managed by an administrator and support various authentication methods, while Third-Party Accounts are manually added by users and only support TOTP passcodes

Duo Mobile now supports restoring third-party accounts on iOS devices using iCloud backup. 

Duo Mobile: This feature allows users to securely reconnect personal accounts after resetting their device or acquiring a new one. To enable this feature, users must activate the "Backup accounts with a drive" toggle in the Duo Restore settings and set up a secure recovery password. It is crucial to store this password securely, as losing it will require manual restoration of accounts one by one.
