Is FCoE QoS on Nexus 5K necessary?

We have UCS chassis that connect through two FI's that in turn connect to a pair of Nexus 5K's.

My understanding is FCoE traffic would only go between UCS & the Fabric Interconnects, and not hit the Nexus 5K's.
Is it correct that it's not necessary to apply QoS for FCoE on N5K, unless we run FCoE as protocol to storage arrary?

Greetings.

You are correct, with the assumption you are using native FC uplinks from the FIs to the N5ks, and FC from N5ks to Storage processors.

Thanks,

Kirk...

Thanks for the reply Kirk.

All of my customers are doing either native FC, or iSCSI.

I have yet seen anyone do FCoE to storage arrays.

So I wonder why the N5K's come w/ default QoS policy that's for FCoE, because I'd have to change it...
