Hi,
what is the minimal number of fabric modules in a Nexus 7009 chassis? To operate the M1 linecards (80Gbps to the fabric) 1 fabric2 module whould be enough. For redundancy reasons I would pick 2 of them, but the ICT tells me that a minimum of 3 fabric modules is required. Is this a bug in ICT?

For 80G to operate in N + 1 HA you need minimum 3

In the meantime I found out, that the M1linecard offers not a single 80Gbps Channel to the fabric modules, but two 40 Gbps Channels. So you need two fabrics to operate the module + 1 HA. In case of a Fab2, only 40 of 110 Gbps are used :-(

t.kraemer,
Could you give me the reference for the 2x40G channels for M1? From the architecture guide, each card has 2 x 23G channels per FAB1 module. The M1 architecture has not changed so even with FAB2, these will remain 2x23G channels per Fabric module. So yes, you will need 3 FAB2 modules for HA but each channel is still 23G.
