Multicast via OTV problem

Hello,

I was just wondering, is it possible to have two separate queriers in the same VLAN which is extended through OTV? Two different routers registered as a querier on both sides of the OTV. I have a problem with transporting mcast traffic from one site to another via OTV and I cannot find a reason, so this came to my attention. Actually the problem appeared after I did a "shut/no shut" on one of overlay0 interfaces. Any other traffic works well.

Cheers,

Krzysztof

Hi Krzysztof,

Actually, when you have a querier at site A, queries generated by this querier are not carried over to site B, you will need a separate querier in site B.

As I have recently learnt, in case you have a unicast transport, OTV will craft a dummy PIM hello on the Internal interface so that the switch (or a VDC) will have a mrouter port towards OTV.
