Hi!
A few days ago I was able to upgrade the firmware from 1.5(7c) to 1.5(8a) and BIOS from version 1.5.4a to 1.5.4b using the ucs-c460-huu-1.5.8a file mapped via KVM using an old windows xp with java 1.7. In fact, this upgrade was to enable access to KVM from more recent java, something that was lost a few months ago.
This monday I performed the same procedure on an exact server and all was fine, but this server can't upgrade firmware.
I get error 1902, which is described here:
https://quickview.cloudapps.cisco.com/quickview/bug/CSCui18044
But there's not anything to solve this.
Any ideas please?
Regards
David

David,
A few steps to try:
- Power off server, remove PSU, and hold the power button for 30 seconds. Retry the upgrade.
- Reboot CIMC before the upgrade.
- Attempt the upgrade using a physical USB vs vMedia
Let me know what questions you have and please share the results.
Thanks,
Wes

"- Reboot CIMC before the upgrade." -- solved it like this.
Thanks.
By the way, the process of upgrading via CIMC, Admin tab, Firmware management, "install CIMC Firmware through browser client" is identical? Can the same iso file be used, or does one have to extract the files from the iso?
Just curious.
Thanks and regards.

David,
Glad to hear that worked out. You can do the CIMC and BIOS via the CIMC page, however you need to extract the following items out of the iso file:
CIMC:
upd-pkg-c220-m4-cimc.full.2.0.10b
BIOS:
C220M4-BIOS-2-0-10c-0
The files will vary based on version. Let me know if you have other questions.

Wes

Thanks. It seems that it has one big advantage of allowing both CIMC and BIOS upgrade without shutting down the server...
Just one note. Of the suggested steps I've only tried "- Reboot CIMC before the upgrade.". I can't confirm if the others would have worked in my case.
Thank you so much!

Since I was remote, I couldn't try option1 but "Reboot CIMC" did work for me on C240M3S chassis.
Thanks.
