Hi,

I'm trying to use the aRFS (Accelerated receive flow steering) option on a 1227 VIC installed in a C220M4 server running Linux.

I did the following steps:

1. Enable aRFS in CMIC & reboot

2. Run ethtool to enable "ntuple filters": ethtool -k eth9 ntuple on

3. Run ethtool to define a filtering rule: ethtool -U eth9 flow-type udp4 dst-ip 232.0.0.9 dst-port 5000 action 1

This last command fails and I'm getting these errors:

rmgr: Invalid RX class rules table size: Operation not supported
Cannot insert classification rule

What am I doing wrong? How can I use aRFS in Linux?

Hi

VIC 1227 does support aRFS, however the firmware and driver support is also required. Is the adapter configured for aRFS? If the server is manged by UCSM you can config as per

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/unified_computing/ucs/sw/gui/config/guide/2-2/b_UCSM_GUI_Configuration_Guide_2_2/b_UCSM_GUI_Configuration_Guide_2_2_chapter_010101.html#concept_F619741FCCCA4E20A4166901A793DF02
