Music on Hold (MoH) Configuration
Step 1. Log in to the Cisco Configuration Assistant (CCA) and choose Configure > Telephony > Voice Features > Music on Hold. The Music On Hold page opens:

Step 2. In the Audio File drop-down list, choose one of the following:
• None — This option can be used if you do not want an audio file to be played while the user is on hold.
• music-on-hold.au — Enable an audio file for on hold calls. The audio level of this file is 30 decibels.
• music-on-hold_10db.au — Enable an audio file for on hold calls. The audio level of this file is 10 decibels. The sound file is therefore more quiet than the previous option.
Step 3. (Optional) You can add a custom audio file to this list. In order to this, simply drag and drop the audio file (.au or .wav) onto the Music on Hold window. Once the UC500 saves the audio file, it will appear as another option in the Audio File drop-down list.

Step 4. Check the Enable external music on hold port check box if you want to enable an audio file from an external source to be used for music on hold. Music on hold for internal calls is automatically enabled and cannot be disabled when this option is enabled. If an audio file is chosen and the external music-on-hold port is also enabled, the music input from the external port takes precedence. The selected audio file serves as a backup music source if the external source fails or is not available.

Step 5. Check Enable music on hold for internal calls check box to activate the music on hold for internal calls.
Note: If you want to only enable music on hold for internal calls, you must uncheck the Enable external music on hold port check box. This option will play the selected audio file between internal IP phone to IP phone calls.
Step 6. Click Apply to save the changes.
