Objective
The objective of this document is to explain configuration of Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) setting on WIP310. SIP is application layer control protocol used on voice and video calls over the internet. SIP runs in any transport layer protocol like TCP, UDP, SCTP. The two kind of SIP messages are Requests and Response messages. The request includes INVITE, REGISTER, ACK and the response includes SUCCESS.

Step-by-Step Procedure
Step 1. Using the Wireless Telephone Configuration utility, choose Ext1 tab.

Step 2.Go to SIP Settings and enter the parameters for the SIP setting.
• SIP Transport — Transport layer protocol for the SIP protocol. SIP can use TCP, UDP, and Transport Layer Security (TLS) protocols. Default protocol is UDP.
• SIP Port — Port number of the SIP message. Default value is 5060 for all transport layer protocols.
• SIP 100REL Enable — To enable the support of 100REL SIP extension for reliable transmission of provisional response and use of PRACK requests. Both100REL and PRACK extensions on SIP message format are used for reliable provisioning.
• EXT SIP Port — External SIP port number.
• Auth Resync-Reboot — Choose yes to allow the SIP server authenticates the sender when it receives the NOTIFY resync reboot message. Default value is no.
• SIP Proxy-Require — SIP proxy can support a specific extension (number) or behavior (values) when it sees this header from the user agent.
• SIP Remote-Party-ID — Use Remote-Party-ID header instead of the From header. Default value is yes.
• Referor Bye Delay — Control when the Referor sends BYE to terminate stale calls upon completion of call transfers, for example if the phone is connected to a SPA9000 device. The SPA9000 will send Referor Bye Delay to the WIP310. Default value is 4.
• Refer-To Target Contact — Contact the refer-to target. Default values is no.
• Referee Bye Belay — For the Referee Bye Delay. Enter time in sec. Default value is 0.
• SIP Debug Option — Controls which SIP messages to log. Choose the option from the drop-down list. The options are
– 1-line — Logs the start line only for all sip messages.
– 1-line excl.OPT — Logs the start line except request and option messages.
– 1-line excl NTFY — Logs the start line except notify messages.
– 1-line excl REG — Logs the start line except register messages.
– 1-line excl.OPTINFYREG — Logs the start line except option, notify, register messages.
– full — Logs all SIP messages.
– full excl.OPT — Logs all messages except option request and response messages.
– full excl.NTFY — Logs all messages except notify request and response messages.
– full excl.REG — Logs all messages except register request and response.
– full excl.OPTINFYREG — Logs all messages except option, notify, register request and response messages.
– none — no log.
• Refer Target Bye Delay — Delay for Refer Target Bye Delay. Delay in time in seconds. Default value is 0 sec.
• Sticky 183 — Choose yes to enable the phone to ignores further 180 SIP responses after receiving the first 183 sip response for an outbound INVITE. Default is no.
• Set G729 annexb — G.729 Annex B settings. G729b uses voice activity detection module. The options are no, yes, follow silence supp setting.
Step 3. Click Submit All Changes.
