Firewall Port Forwarding Configuration on the RV120W and RV220W
Objective
The objective of this article is to explain the port forwarding on the RV120W and RV220W Network Security Firewall. IP Addresses are divided into ports, so that one IP address can be used by multiple programs to send and receive data at the same time. Port forwarding is used to redirect traffic from the Internet from one port on the WAN to another port on the LAN. Any PC whose port is being forwarded must have its DHCP client function disabled and must have a new static IP address assigned to it because its IP address may change when using the DHCP function. Note: A maximum of 100 port forwarding rules can be created.

Steps to View Port Forwarding Rule Table
Step 1. Use the web configuration utility to choose Firewall > Port Forwarding. The Port Forwarding page opens.

Action — Represents whether to allow/block traffic always or based on the schedule made when the rule is applicable.
Service — Represents the name of the service for which the port forwarding is applicable.
Status — Represents whether the port forwarding rule is enabled or disabled.

Destination IP Address — Represents the destination IP address of the server to which traffic is forwarded.
Forward from Port — Represents the port from which the traffic is forwarded.
Forward to Port — Represents the Port to which traffic is forwarded.
Step 3. Click Add to add a new port forwarding rule, or check the respective check box and click Edit, Delete, Enable, or Disable to perform the respective action to an existing rule.
Note: When you click on the Add or Edit button the Add/Edit Port Forwarding Configuration page opens.
Step 4. Choose the action from the Action drop down list. The options are as below.
Always Allow — Always allow the selected type of traffic.
Always Block — Always block the selected type of traffic.
Note: For Always Allow and Always Block options Schedule drop down list and Configure Schedules button are disabled.

Step 5. Choose the service from the Service drop down list. If the required service is not found in the Service drop down list, then click Configure Services or choose Firewall > Advanced Settings > Schedules.
Step 6. Choose source IP option from the Source IP drop down list. The source IP drop down list contains three options.

Single Address — In single address you need to specify only the start IP address for which the port forward rule is applied.
Address Range — In address range specify both the start address and the finish address. This specifies the range of address for which the port forward rule applies.
Step 7. Enter the destination IP in the Destination IP field.
