I have a E3000 wireless router as my base network device and I want to extend the range of this network using WAP4410N.
E3000 runs security in WPA2/WPA Mixed Mode and does MAC Filtering. The entry for the wireless MAC of WAP4410N had been added to the whitelist already. WAP4410N is upgraded to run the latest firmware.
So far, no matter which AP mode I choose on WAP4410N I am not able to make it communicate with E3000.
1) in WDS Repeater mode it does advertise the sid because I can see it on the client PC. I can connect from PC to WAP4410N but seems that the connection between WAP4410N and E300 is not established successfully (although I do see data being transmitted back and forth in the Status console) and internet access does not work. Seems that PC->WAP4410N works but WAP4410N>E3000 does not.
2) In Wireless Client/Repeater mode I have no joy at all. No sid advertisement visible on the PC. I cannot see the WAP4410N device even transmitting anything on the wireless interface.
In both cases I cannot see the WAP4410N having an established connection to E3000 when loping at the current connected clients screen. In fact it consistently shows the WAP4410N as disconnected
All security entries on the WAP4410N match those of the E3000.
Things just do not make any sense to me here. How do I make it work? What is the step-by-step procedure?
I see lots of posts on the net raising the same issue but there are no answers.
Have I just wasted money by buying WAP4410N here ???
