Hello there,
In the serial number field on the custom inventory report. What is the difference between not available and not applicable?

Hi
Thanks for your question. The term 'Not Available' and 'Not Applicable' when applied to just the Serial Number column of the Custom Inventory Report mean the same. If the serial number parameter returned by the device was a not in a valid format (sometimes empty), the reports show 'Not Available'/'Not Applicable'. Sometimes the nuance maybe that the PID detail was successfully collected and sometimes not.
When you encounter either Not Available or Not Applicable in the Serial Number column, you may want to download the Inventory Summary Report and look up the hostname and IP address and take the suggested action. I hope this helps.
Best,
Suba
