Upgrading from 2 port to 8 port module on 930048H

I was wondering if it was possible to upgrade from a 2 port module to an 8 port module in the 9300-48H switches?  We are using a full SDA deployment in our environment and I assume if we tried to swap them out we would run into a slew of issues in doing so.

We've changed many 4G to 8X uplink modules out in production in C93 24p/48p and 24UXBs.

We worked out that a little copy and paste is all that's need. Copy the the live interface configuration, swap the module/sfps etc, configure the new interfaces with with the L3 config of the old and boom. Connectivity restored, resync the device in the inventory and move on.

while CatC still collect inventory from chassis, in inventory itself it uses S/Ns of chassis as one of the key IDs/indexes.
Try it in the LAB 1st, or create TAC SR to predict the result of NM replacement

Hello,

the C9300-NM-8X (Catalyst 9300 Series 8x 10G/1G Network Module) is the compatible module. Obviously, since you are running a full SDA deployment, VLANs, VRFs, and SDA settings (e.g. SDA Edge Port configuration) need special attention.

I am not sure if adding ports triggers changes in the license configuration...

yes, possible; if that is uplink, then you need to consider config change with bootstrap and re-provisioning.

That is actually a really simple and straightforward method.  Thank you.
