I notice a new release has been posted, which I assume is just a rebuild to fix a few of the recent security vulnerabilities. Be nice to have some release notes to confirm that though...

Can you tell me which release notes you are referring to on CCO, I see no new release notes for SN5428-2 posted for this year at: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/products/hw/ps4159/ps2160/prod_release_notes_list.html
I do not believe the SN5428-2 was effected by the recent security holes.

Ok, I see the May 2005 posting of new SN5428-2 image, I will ask engineering what was the reason for image build and get release note posted

Documentation group is late on release note posting to CCO for this release, I am told they will be out shortly. You are also correct that this release was built to address a vulnerability , the one with the TCP Timestamps option. The other issues with ICMP security risks did not apply.
