Does it make sense (and/or give any additional benefits) to use single cisco-tac alert group instead of combination of system, environmental, inventory and so on alert groups for internal support team notification?

Worth to add that we don't use AutoNotify feature..

Yes, It is possible to use a single cisco-tac alert group instead of a separate group for system, environmental, inventory etc. Since you mention that you dont use autonotify feature, single cisco-tac alert group would be the best option.
