Cisco 9132T maximum distance

Hello team,

Trying to position Cisco 9132T, but may I know the maximum distance it supports? Client comparing Cisco with Brocade license Extended Fabric, I am assuming that feature Is included in the FOS by default, any suggestions please?

Hello,
MDS 9132T, using extended buffer credit feature, can support upto 500km distance @ 32G FC speed over dark fiber. You can assign upto 8191 buffer credits per port or share 8300 buffer credits among 16-port port group. You will need to buy enterprise license for extended buffer credits.
Brocade also needs extended fabric license, it is not included by default in FOS.

By default, without enterprise license, it can support upto 500 buffer credits per port in any port group.
Besides, MDS 9132T comes with reversible airflow support, encryption support, redundant field replaceable PSU and Fan trays, from hardware feature perspective.
Brocade, depending upon the platform you select does not have such features in their 32G fabric switches. If you can tell us which Brocade switch you are comparing 9132T with, we can give more details.

As i understand distance can be covered based on the Optic and cable used here.

 

Look at the datasheet which covers what cable can support what length :
