Hi, I just started to work with device-alias and have a question - how do I change a device alias. All I found was "no deviace-alias name..." and then again "device-alias name...". Then commit of course.
BUT, pwwns in zones (which were defined using device-alias) are not changed ! What am I doing wrong ? I have to take old memeber away from zone and define the same alias to zone again.
2.0.2b on 9506
Thank you

I had the exact same issue, and like you had to remove, recreate both aliases. It was very annoying, as I had inadvertently swapped the aliases for two hbas and then had to correct 8 zones.
In a class one instructor indicated that it could be done, but we didn't get to it. Hopefully a Cisco Engineer will enlighten us.

Two HBAs :) I had three HBAs swapped in triangle and six other wrong HBAs.
I cannot find any command to do it, I think it is possible with fcalias, but I had to use device alias as IVR doesn't support fcaliases.
BTW I haven't found device alias definition in GUI, nor was able to display device aliases in layout map, only WWNs. Uncomfortable for operators....
