Hello,

i have a query, although I may know the answer but still need to be sure.
Is the topology as shown below and in diagram supported for initiator 1 to communicate to the target?
Logically { [initiator1]---[cN7K-storage NPIV]---[cN5K NPV]---[MDS NPIV]---[JBOD Target] }, can inititiator1 use the target here?
Attached is the diagram for the topology. Please let me know your thoughts, any url?

Kind Regards,

No, I don't think this will work ! the N5k NPV node would have to do relay or routing, which is not possible. NPV is a end host, therefore no FC switch functionality.

Yes,

I am unable to make it work.

1> NPV switch gets connected to N7K-storage VDC with port mode NP and flogi's into the storage-vdc that's it the fabric stays broken on N7k-storage vdc with no learning of FCNS database, no fcdomain information other than itself.

i cannot see anyway to make it work just even if they are in single vsan.

Many thanks for replying Walter.
