Hi there,
I would like to get your opinion about my problem.
PROBLEM: I have a switch MDS9148 that I am trying to manage it with Fabric manager 5.0(1a). Fabric map in FM shows VSAN 1 as a separate switch which is unmanaged. I found that whenever I create another vsan, Fabric manager shows it on a map as separate switch.
I would really appreciate your opinion or a solution that ou can provide. If you need any other information please let me know.
Good day,
Betim

Hi,
Fabric Manager 5.0(4c) was just released. Give that a try.
Also, how did you discover the fabric? Fibre Channel or LAN/Ethernet/CDP?

David

Hey dakester,
I'll give it a try with new version. We discover fabric via LAN/Ethernet/CDP.

Hi,
I installed Fabric Manager 5.0(4c) and still same problem. The reason why is this making me mad as I have the same second switch and that works without any problems. I doubt that problem has to do with switch and not with FM.

Hi,
Now is a good time for a TAC SR.
Upload a show tech from both both switches, one that displays ok and the one that displays a switch for each VSAN.
In FM Log tab at the bottom, Right click in the log area > dump fm server
This will make a file, like C:\Program Files\Cisco Systems\dcm\fm\logs\fms_dump.1
Upload the following two files from the Fabric Manager.
C:\Program Files\Cisco Systems\dcm\fm\logs
Zip the above logs folder
C:\Program Files\Cisco Systems\dcm\fm\config\server.properties
(Notes these are the default paths, your path may be different.)
Also upload the screenshot.
If you zip everything into one file, it may be easier to upload to the SR.
Regards,
David
