We're in the beginning stage of planning a new SAN and I'm trying to determine how an iSCSI solution might work. For example, if I were to get a 10gb CNA, Conversion Network Adapter, for a host and plug that adapter into a 10 gig ethernet module on a Cisco 4510 Chassis, and then a cable on that same ethernet module to an iSCSI SAN. Would that work? I don't need a special type switch such as the Nexus 5000 to perform any conversion or FCoE wrapping on the ethernet frames do I? Wouldn't that be done on the converged network adapter?
thank you,
Bill
Nevermind, I just realized that iSCSI and FCoE are 2 entirely different things.
