We've recently had dozens of APs located at spoke sites losing their joined status to our central WLC. No recent upgrades to the controller or our WAN infrastructure, which is Cisco SDWAN that uses 2 broadband links for transports. We've discovered...
Why would someone choose to use vpc advertise-pip border only rather than vpc advertise-pip? I'm looking for a circumstance/example that would make you lean one direction or the other. If you have vpc facing hosts within the fabric, isn't it ideal ...
I'm looking for reasons to use the same public ASN at two distinct datacenters vs. reasons to use unique ASNs at each. We're bringing a new datacenter online that will have a unique public address space of its own but must also advertise a /24 prefi...
We've been looking for a way to sort of replicate the output of our IWAN monitoring of traffic classes to check which transport is currently being used and when previous switchovers between transports occurred and why. For example, in IWAN if you wa...
I'm looking into an issue with failover not working during a recent outage on 1 of 2 CSRs used as DMVPN hub routers in Azure. The failover consists of event manager using the guestshell and invoking node_event.py scripts. This worked in the past, b...
This looks like it's impacting more than just AP registration. We've found some SMB communication that breaks down too. It seems most likely it's ISP related. Thanks everyone for your suggestions.
Richard, this hits on one aspect I'm concerned with. Each DC will have a unique prefix, but would use the same ASN. Could the DCs communicate with each using their unique prefixes without issue even though they have the same ASN, or because they're...
So using the same ASN at each DC fits better for an active/active design then. That makes sense. Based on Richard's post though, I suppose there isn't much harm in employing the same ASN if at some point the desire and design changes and we want to...
Each DC has a unique prefix, but the DR DC should be able to advertise the prefix used by the primary DC if the primary DC goes offline. Similar to Richard's post above.
