Firmware question.

Hi all,

Our site is running a MDS switch combination of 9216's and 9120's with 3.1(1) firmware. I have just received some new gear to replace the 9216's, two 9222i's and two 9216a's and would like to upgrade the firmware on my whole fleet. What too? Well that's where I was hoping I could get some feedback.

My thoughts are to go to SAN-OS 3.3(3), as all the switches support this revision.

Are there any advantages/disadvantages of having mixed firmware such as NX-OS 4.1(1) on the 9222i's and SAN-OS 3.3(3) on the 9216a's, 9216's and 9120's?

Unless you need a feature that is only included in the NX-OS 4.1, I would recommend staying with the latest 3.3 release on all switches. If you need one of the new features that require 4.1 is possible, but you will have to manage those features according.
