We are installing a new NETAPP appliance that will be used for iSCSI and connected into some 9372 Nexus switches.
The contractor says that the NETAPP will not be connected by a VPC but by two seperate links connecting to the two 9372 switches that are joined by a VPC.
So on the Nexus switches there will be the following
Nexus A - VLAN 201 for the primary link
Nexus B - VLAN 202 for the secondary link
My question is do both VLANs need to be created on the two Nexus switches?
There will be a ESX host connected to the NEXUS 9372 switches via 2 x 10 GIG links in a VPC. If we don't create the same VLAN on both switches, wont the VLANs go in to a suspended state because of a VLAN configuration mismatch on the VPC.
I have attached a diagram showing the basic connectivity
