MDS 9148 using Web Cisco Device manager

I have inherited these 9148s my first question is, I am trying to log into it using the Web Cisco Device manager and it wants the device name. That is the device name I see when I plug directly into the device console port correct? and second, will I be able to effect zoning and all the SAN functionality using this or do I need The Fabric manager?

Are you referring to DCNM (DC Network Manager). If so yes you'll be able to configure everything on the MDS that you can from the cli. In DCNM you can add a device by the name or the ip address.

Yes, When I put the IP address of the device in it brings up the Cisco Device Manager for MDS 9000 and Nexus 5000, the login screen asks for

Device Name:

User Name:

Password:

The device name is where I am confused, If I connect to the console I see the name we gave it, Is that the name that goes in that block? and I can just use the IP correct?
