Hello.
I need to connect HP Flex10 to a Cisco 9500. In order to do that NPV needs to be enabled on the 9500. The reason is that several wwn are going to apear in the same port of the switch.
First, do I really need NPV? And if so, Cisco documentation states that configs are erased and the switch is rebooted when NPV is enabled; is there any other way to do this? The 9500 is working in a critical enviroment.
Thanks in advance,
Joao Ribau.

Hi
You are confusing NPV with NPIV (easily done)
You need to enable NPIV on the switch, that is non disruptive.
NPV on the other hand IS disruptive and causes a reboot - you tend to only want that on edge switches
