Equipment: UCS with 2 x 6248UP fabric interconnects, running version 4.2(1f).
Problem: On FI A, SAN port channel 101 (fc1/29-32) connects to SAN port channel 102 (fc1/37-40) on a N5K-C5596UP switch. I'm attempting to move those four connections to SAN port channel 11 (fc1/1-4) on a new MDS 9124V switch. However, I think I did this in the wrong way — i.e. simply moving fibers one at a time, from the old switch to the new — because that caused the FI ports to go into an "error-disabled" state. Unfortunately, doing a shut/noshut on those ports did not fix things. I was unable to get it to work, so I reverted everything back to the 5K switch. Once the connections were back in place, a shut/noshut on the ports brought the port channel back up.
Request: Could anyone describe the correct process to do this kind of migration? Also, does anyone have any advice for resolving the above "error-disabled" state?

I see this in the MDS log, but only one time, for one port:
%PORT-5-IF_DOWN_LINK_FAILURE: %$VSAN 100%$ Interface fc1/1 is down (Link failure loss of signal)
I see a lot of these:
%PORT-5-IF_DOWN_OLS_RCVD: %$VSAN 100%$ Interface fc1/1 is down (OLS received)
Otherwise nothing jumps out. The log level is set to "Notifications", though, so maybe that's why?
Also, I've since discovered that the log level on the FI side is set to "Critical", so that's not helpful at all, obviously.
