replication links across data centers for storage

Hi Team,

We would like to take ur suggestions in getting the best industry standards for implementing storage data replication.

In precise we would like to understand if we need to apply links at core layer or at a lower layers like aggregation/access.

We are working on two Data center design options: Active-Active or Active-Standby models between primary and secondary/DR Data centers.

Kindly suggest us the devices to terminate these storage data replication links and are they going to be same as the Data Center DR links at the core.

Sandeep,

Are you asking where you should connect the GigE/FCIP interfaces on an MDS to in your network?  If so you would most often connect these ports to the distribution layer as all the traffic has a destination outside of the datacenter. You can even connect the GigE ports to multiple distribution switches to obtain further redundancy and then create a FCIP based port-channel (not an L2 based Etherchannel) out of the multiple FCIP tunnels.
