Use of smart zoning during MDS refresh

I'm preparing for a hardware refresh from MDS9513 to MDS9713. I want to consider the Use of smart zoning during the migration.

Have anyone done this conversion from traditional zoning to Smart zoning as part of a migration?

What are the pros and cons?

I converted online from regular zones to smart zones without taking systems offline. No cons, just pros ..easier to zone, zoneset is much smaller.
