i have a customer that is considering purchasing two 9120's to bookend a 50km long distance connection. What do i need to successfully deploy them:
long distance SFPs - does the type depend on the wavelength being used?
licensing - can i do this with the base package or do i need additional licensing (ie: enterprise package).
i am doing my research on this at the moment but since time is off the essence i thought i would turn to the experts! links to any information would be helpful as well!
thanx in advance -
William

Long wave SFP will only get you 10km over dark fiber. For 50km you can use a pair of Cisco CWDM SFPs. I believe these go up to 80km. You dont need any license to use CWDM SFPs.

thanx! I knew i needed the CWDM SFPs but was more concerned about the possible need for an software license. but from what i understand now it is all about the buffering credits on the target ports. thanx again!
