I am hoping someone can help me with an issue i have with our printers and Cisco SG500 switches. We use MAB authentication on the switch ports along with dynamic VLAN assignment for the devices. The problems is when the printers go to sleep the port they are connected to drops into an unauthorised state and it can't then be woken up when a user tries to print.
Researching online it appears the Catalyst switches have a command "authentication control-direction in",which allows the switch to talk to the host but blocks the host from talking to the network, but this command seems to be missing from the SG500 switches. Is there any equivalent command? or is there another way i can get around the problem?
