Cisco Sx500 Series - stacking error message

HI,

we've been using SF500 series switches for some time, I'm familiar with them and have set up many stacks with no issues.

until now.

I'm using a SF500-24 and a SG500-24 as a stack with SFP connectivity between them on the s3/s4 ports, all working happily. I'm trying to add in another 2 switches (SF500-24 and SF500-48), all switches are on same boot code and firmware versions but when you add the new switch in to the stack the additional switch reboots, then all the port lights illuminate. on the master switch in the view logs/ram logs it registers the following:

"%Stack-E-PRODUCT-INCOMPATIBLE: Unit 3 has been shut down due to incompatible product ID"

I can find no further details or documentation for this error, can anyone help?

thanks,

Andy

Hi,
My name is Iliya Gatsev from Cisco Technical Support Team.

I think it would be best if you could call our support line and open a support ticket, so we can do a WebEx remote session and check the configuration.
