EoS of the MFEFX1

Hi,

The MFEFX1 SFP will be EoS in May.

Replacement is the MGBLX1. This is gigabit over single mode fiber and not 100 Mbps FX over multimode fiber.

Do you need a mode conditioning cable for this to work?

Is the GLC-FE-100-FX= supported in SMB switches?

The MFEFX1 supports 100BASE-FX over up to 2 km.

Please refer to the EoS:

Thanks!

The GLC-FE-100FX should work.  We have tested other GLC modules in the Small Business switches and not had problems with them.  With that said, you should still be able to order the MFEFX1.

It says it supports multimode ....

The Cisco 100BASE-FX SFP operates on ordinary multimode fiber-optic (MMF) link spans up to 2 kilometers (km) long.

I know the MFEFX1 is multimode fiber.

Accoring the EoS the replacement is the MGBLX1, which is Single mode fiber. So this is not a valid replacement. Do you need a mode conditioning cable to get this working?
