SG250-50P PoE requested and allocated power (LLDP) mismatch

Hardware Details

  • Model: SG250-50P
  • Firmware: 2.5.9.54

Background

I have thirty (30) PoE devices connected to an SG250-50P and they power on and seem to work as expected. However, when reviewing the requested and allocated power, the numbers don't seem to make sense. All thirty devices are the same model and have the same power configuration.

Below is a summary of the power information reported:

  • Switch 'Allocated Power': 75W (out of a total possible 375W)
  • Power is configured by Class Limit (not Port Limit)
  • LLDP Local Information (for each port):
    • 802.3 Power via MDI:
      • PD Requested Power Value: 13W
      • PSE Allocated Power Value: 13W
    • MED Details:
      • PoE Power Value: 1.4W (Power usage varies anywhere from 1.2W to 1.4W)
  • LLDP Neighbor Information (for each port):
    • 802.3 Power via MDI:
      • All fields: N/A
    • MED Details:
      • PoE Power Value: 8.9W

Based on the numbers above, the total allocated power value doesn't make any sense to me. If it was using the 13W allocated value, it should be 390W (i.e. 30 x 13W) and if we're using the Neighbor PoE Power Value, the total should be 267W (i.e. 30 x 8.9W). It doesn't even match the power usage value of 1.2 to 1.4W.

Can anyone help me understand what I'm missing? I can attach screenshots of the above information from the switch (if that's helpful).
