SG300 RADIUS VLAN Assignment issue

Hi All,

I am in the process of testing using a RADIUS server and an SG300-10 to authenticate wired clients on my network. It is mostly working but i have an strange issue which i am hoping someone can help me with. The RADIUS is configured to authenticate clients based on their MAC address and assign them to the appropriate VLAN. This is mostly working but i have a handful of client which are not working.

What i see when they connect is the switch performs the exchange with the RADIUS server which authorises the client. The switch places the switch port into the correct VLAN and the client machine picks up a DHCP lease but it can not talk to anything on the network. After several hours of testing i discovered that the switch appears to be putting all the traffic into VLAN 1 rather than the one assigned by RADIUS. I know this as if i assign the device to VLAN 1 in RADIUS or disabled the RADIUS VLAN assignment and manually put the port into VLAN 1 everything works fine. If i set the port manually to the VLAN i want the client to be in it has the same issue.

I have tried everything i can think of but can't get it to work. It is only happening for a small set of clients but it is preventing the full roll out of the RADIUS authentication to our network.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advanced.

Andrew
