Subject: Switch SF300 Crash When Assigning IP Addresses to VLANs

Hello,

I’m facing an issue with my Cisco SF300-24 switch. Every time I assign an IP address to a VLAN, the switch crashes. I’ve tried different firmware versions, but the problem persists. I’ve downloaded and installed the latest version (1.4.11.5), but still no luck.

Has anyone encountered this issue or found a solution? I would appreciate any help.

Thank you in advance!

@mch269

 If you changed the firmware and the problem persist, chances are you are doing something wrong. Make sure the IP address you are assigning is not in use by another device on the network.

 Can you show how you are doing this with print?

Thank you for your response.

I've created three VLANs (10, 20, and 30) and I'm trying to assign the following IP addresses:

  • VLAN 10: 192.168.10.254
  • VLAN 20: 192.168.20.254
  • VLAN 30: 192.168.30.254

Here’s a screenshot of my configuration. Every time I enter the IP address and click on "Apply," the switch starts loading indefinitely and crashes. During this time, I can’t ping the switch. I’ve also tried assigning the IP addresses via SSH, but the same issue occurs. Rebooting is the only way to regain access.

Is there anything connected to this switch? Any chance they are using this IP address?  One thing I can think of is some conflict due duplicate IP address.
