Recently I had an old switch fail and not needing anything fancy (or so we thought) we replaced it with an SG200-50. Default Vlan, No configuration other than assigning it a static IP address, changing the login credentials and setting the date/time info pretty much. All devices appear to be talking to each other but at random times communications to a device will drop. If I ping that device manually, 1 ping is successful and subsequent pings fail. This will continue for a while, I have not been able to determine the exact amount of time. If I come back say 15 minutes later and ping again I get the same response. 1 ping then times out. Its not a submarine movie and I don't have any idea why its doing that unfortunately. The devices in question are plugged directly into the same switch. Most of the time they are talking just fine. No firewall is on, no antivirus is installed. I thought perhaps the switch was faulty so I swapped it with another one but it has the same behavior. I thought the end points might be faulty but its happening to multiple endpoints at different times, not always the same ones. Any suggestions on anything else I should look at?
