10 Gig connection

This seems that it should be simple, and I am probably overlooking something stupid.  Somebody please point it out to me.

Connecting a WS-C4948E-F with a SFP-10G-SR to an ASR1002 with a XFP-10G-MM-SR.

Using standard MM fiber.  Link will not come up.

I have connected the fiber between 2 XFP-10G-MM-SR on the ASR and the link comes up.  Between 2 XFP-10G-MM-SR on the switch and it comes up.  So my modules and my cable is fine.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Definetly both SFP's are compatible with each other. it might be possible that PHY controller on the ASR is in WAN mode. you can use the below command to check,

show controllers wanphy 1/1/0

Have you tried changing the port to lan mode?

Command:

hw-module subslot 0/0 enable lan

once you do the above the link should come up.

It shouldn't matter, but just to troubleshoot one more thing, when connecting the switch to ASR, can you switch the strands around on one side of the connections and test?

Should have mentioned that.  I did try it.  No joy.
