Looking to move one of our Nexus 5548's a few floor down to another server room. Need to uplink it back to our main

server floor over 10 gig which will be approx 500ft away. What is the distance limitation over fiber for 10gig ? The transceivers

we are using are SFP-10G-SR.

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers

Dave,

Are you using 62.5 or 50?

Also, what Optical Mode?

Cisco SFP-10G-SR

The  Cisco 10GBASE-SR Module supports a link length of 26m on standard Fiber  Distributed Data Interface (FDDI)-grade multimode fiber (MMF). Using  2000 MHz*km MMF (OM3), up to 300m link lengths are possible.

Also,

OM 2 50u 10Gig 150M 1Gig 750M

OM 3 50u 10Gig 300M 1Gig 1000M

OM 4 50u 10Gig 550M 1Gig 1100M
