Can a c2924 switch with a 100basefX talk to a c3750 switch using a 1000baseSX
gbic?
Will I need a Transceiver/media converter?
Thanks

I dont think so!
you will need to have a an optical port on your c2924 which it doesn't have.

Probably not, even with a transceiver, because most transceivers are the same speed output as input.
What you need is a cheap switch with a 1000sx optical port and a/some 10/100/1000 ports (to act as a differential transceiver).
Part of the issue is the buffering needed for traffic coming from the 1000Mbps side to the 100Mbps side.
If you find one, let us know!
Good Luck

You can buy a 100FX SFP for your 3750. (U$S 200).
This way you keep a simple and clean setup.

It won't. GLC-SX-MM is a 1000Base and won't auto-negotiate to 100 mbps.
